Vacancy Detail

Service Engineer

You've got to be ok performing under pressure. Doing your best work with eyes burning into the back of your head, watching you every move. Not wanting you to trip up, but out of pure excitement and anticipation that you're the one solving the problems.  You'll be a people person as this role is customer facing. You'll be on site installing, diagnosing or fixing some impressive pieces of machinery.

This is an opportunity to join a business that manufacture bespoke packaging presses. You’ll be part of a very impressive set up. 80 + Headcount, £18m turnover and an ambitious Senior Management Team. They’re a business that has been in operation for 75 years! That’s a long time to perfect your art. The quality, the innovation, the service and support is all second to none and their global client base loves them for it. It’s important that you fall into the category of being passionate about your work, as this will shine through.

Hopefully as a Field Service Engineer already, you know this role requires a lot of travel. This one in particular is International. 60% of the customers you'll be working with are outside of the UK. Europe, America, Canada, Asia - You'll literally be working across the world. What an opportunity.

As it stands, there's a team of 4 Engineers and due to some fairly rapid but solid growth, you'll be number 5. A close knit team, communication is key between you to ensure that the best engineer for the specific job is scheduled. There's going to be a lot of training given on this role. So expect to be in and around the head office (Portsmouth) for a fair while (a couple of months) to learn the business, the presses and to absorb as much of the organisations expertise as possible.

Culture is important on this one. Going through rapid growth as they are, it's important that the talent coming in still fits within the business, even in remote roles like this. Afterall, you're the face of the business in a foreign country installing a major piece of capex investment.

Knowledge of packaging presses would be incredibly useful on this one. Whilst training will be given, you'll be in good stead if you have flexographic print or flexo packaging knowledge and experience but we are totally open to any FSE background.

If you've read this and feel there's more to learn about it, please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
