Business Manager - Trainee

You'll get exposure to every single department within this £multi million, global manufacturing business. The objective is to have a well rounded, person as part of the leadership team who is the next generation of this family-run business. 30 years. That's a fairly long time to perfect your trade. Something this business has done incredibly well. The quality of products and service they provide their customers and the environment and opportunities they create for their staff. 

The years of experience have been built, the wealth of knowledge maintained and now they want to pass that on to the next generation of leaders. This is a unique opportunity where you will be hired with the future in mind. 

Several months in each department, soaking up the knowledge, the experience, the market trends, the clients, you'll experience it all. Working in each department, it'll give you a huge appreciation for the importance of each section of the well-oiled machine. Client Services to Purchasing, Production to Finance, you'll absorb it all. The overall outcome is to sit as a team leader in one of the divisions. 

This isn't going to be easy. Whilst it sounds cushy, you'll be thrown into different projects, complex problems as well as BAU activities. Warts and all view of how a business, a department and a global operation is run. With this in mind, we are hiring on attitudes and behaviours, hiring on culture fit and not specifically on skillset or experience. It would be ideal if you had some knowledge of a manufacturing environment but that isn't a deal-breaker.  What is important is your willingness to learn, be patient, to carve out a career in this niche packaging business. 

You'll be joining safe in the knowledge of this process is a proven one within this business. They live and die by having an open door policy. Striving for better, continuous improvement. So you'll be following in the footsteps of some of the leadership team who have gone through this very process, one is now the Operations Manager and the other is the HR & Training Manager. Living proof that this works. 

The wider team have been in situ for a long time. Many people in the business have been there 15+ years, Living and breathing the company culture. Passionate about delivering a service to their clients, but also a willingness to give away their knowledge to you, so that you can drive the business forward. 

You'll be a recent graduate or someone of graduate calibre. You love a challenge, an opportunity to learn. You'll be well rounded and completely open to where your career can go, safe in the knowledge that there are opportunities aplenty within this business both in the UK and the US.
