Vacancy Detail

Night Shift Manager

Getting the work in the factory isn't your responsibility but once the work has been briefed, what is your responsibility is to ensure the work is produced on time, in full, and on budget. With your experience of working in the manufacturing environment though, this won't come as any surprise.

You love overseeing the operation. People management, health and safety, lean and kaizen implementation along with streamlining the production process, ensuring the highest standard of quality have been adhered to, and keeping one eye on continuous improvement.

The manufacturing facility produces labels and packaging solutions for prime and leading brands globally. There are not many brands that they haven't or don't produce labeling solutions for. Inspection, quality control and quick turnaround on huge runs are vital, as you can imagine.

You'll be joining a global business but with each site running as an individual cost center, with its own SLT, you don't get the global corporate feel, although the standards, process and procedures are universal across the group. The culture is one of 'getting stuff done'. All pulling together in delivering a world-class packaging solution to their clients.

Whilst it would be handy if you came into the role with a knowledge and understanding of the print and packaging industry, it's not vital. What is essential is your experience of leading people, processes and quality across a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

This role is 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts. It's a role where you have to be on it, all the time. If this is a new shift pattern for you, that's ok with us but there's no flexibility on it, so if you are applying, you'll have to be comfortable with this fitting with your life outside of work.

The manufacturing facility will blow you away. The set up, the capabilities, the process and the people operating within it. You main task and remit is to ensure that during the night shift, the work, people and process is continued to the standards that are expected. People management is huge on this one. Leading a team, ensuring that the work is done in the most streamlined, safe way ready for the day shift to pick up where you left off.

The global business, is all about individuals. There's so much progression within the business. New hires are hired on attitude, behaviours and very much ensuring that it's a culture fit. That's one of the reasons why if you are outside of the print and packaging industry but are the 'right' person for the team, you'll get the opportunity to join this impressive business.

Personally, as a recruiter, I have worked with the wider group introducing many people into the business who have gone on to really flourish with the business. There's not much I don't know about the business so if you are an experienced Shift Leader or Shift Manager and fancy a new opportunity, I welcome your questions.
