Vacancy Detail

Ink Technician

This is a vital part in the whole print process. You're the first person, the one who is responsible for getting all the ink and print ready, ready to go and producing award-winning labels for some of the biggest brands in the world.

If you've experience in stock take, manual warehouse work and a close eye on detail, this role is something you could do. Should you be coming from an Ink or a print background already, then even better as you'll be hitting the ground running.

You're part of a much bigger, wider team. You'll be checking production schedules, looking at the print jobs and dispensing the ink needed for the next couple of hours, getting the ink ready for job after job after job. Away from the ink section of the role, you'll be a dab hand in stock check, quality control (checking that the inks are all mixed correctly) detailed in your approach doing colour matching etc.

Once all is set and ready, it will be a manual job in moving the inks ready for print production and this is where all your hard work pays off, you get to see the labels being printed, packed and shipped out to some of the biggest brands, globally, within the whisky and beverage sector.

YOU WILL BE WORKING SHIFTS. I know this is a bit shouty, but it needs to be understood this is shift work. Weekly rotation on a triple shift.

EARLY - Mon - Thur 6:45am - 2:45pm FRIDAY 6:45am - 11:45am
MID - Mon - Thur 2:30pm - 10:15pm FRIDAY 11:30am - 5pm
NIGHT - Monday - Thursday 10pm - 7:15am

The ability to muck in with the wider team is a must on this one. You will have your own production schedule and planner but outside of that, if you have the mentality of helping out in other areas, pulling in the same direction as your colleagues and showing you have the ability, attitude and drive to learn and develop, you'll thrive in this place.

As I mentioned, it would be great if you are coming into this role with some ink mixing, and ink technician experience but if not, if you have worked in a stock take, warehouse, or quality control and you fit culturally, then the ink technical side of things can be taught.

Please get in touch if you have any questions on this role.
