Vacancy Detail

Account Director

Labels are everywhere. For this role, I need you to know your labels. Why? Well, this is a key role in leading and driving added value, greater relationships and new business activity for this global leader in label printing.

You love the responsibility of nurturing, developing and adding value to customers and accounts that are already well-embedded within the business.  Aligning yourself with some serious customers is your bread and butter. You'll have a strong track record of illustrating how influential you have been in developing accounts through your input, your guidance and delivering what is expected of you from the client.

Accountability is pretty big on this one too. The relationships you create and the value you drive will be key in the development and the continued growth of the business that is currently sat at £18m of revenue a year. You'll be Key Account Manager or Account Director for their biggest, longest-established client relationship. This is no easy role though, there are huge boots to fill and the person who has done it previously (very successfully) is still very much in the business after being promoted. You're not coming into this with no back up though, supporting you, you'll be surrounded by some of the best in the business. Studio, Production, Client Services, NPD, R&D you name it, you've got it at your disposal. It's down to you to work with them, to gain the years of knowledge and understanding they have, take it back externally, and be the one to bring home the sales.

You'll be joining a global name in label manufacturing. You'll be surrounded by industry experts, all pulling in the same direction delivering the best possible experience for their customers, suppliers and of course themselves. Longevity in this place is well above the industry average, from their close to 300 headcounts the average tenure is 18 years which is very impressive!

The role itself is a Key Account Manager. You might be an Account Director or a Sales Manager in another packaging business.  What you'll need to illustrate is the leadership of both the internal teams but also the creation and execution of sales strategy from an external perspective too. You'll be targeted on the increase in revenue on the accounts you are given. How you go about that is down to you, as an experienced Key Account Manager / Account Director / Sales Manager, you know how best you work and with a little grace period, you'll quickly get to grips with how the business and the key accounts like to operate. You can make this a pretty varied role, spinning plates, and wearing different hats at many different points in the minutes/hours/days! You could be working with the NDP team on a new launch, briefing the internal client service team on such a project, ensuring the studio can create such new and wonderful things and also ensuring that purchasing can have the suppliers lined up in place and not forgetting the liaison with the Production and Scheduling manager so we know the turnaround times on your project delivery plan.

It's all-encompassing and you need to love it.

If you know print, packaging and especially labels and are a Key Account Manager, Account Director, Sales Manager, or somebody with a solid track record in developing accounts and customers then I'd like to hear from you on this. No CV is needed but if you see this and need a bit more information, get in touch, we'd love to tell you everything you want to know.
