Vacancy Detail

Production Manager

This is an opportunity to join an award-winning print business as their Production Manager. You'll be joining a business that is very much appreciative of their roots and 40 years history but are all about using that as a platform to evolve, invest and transition in the crazy world of print.

You're coming in as a senior member of the business. With that, your experience of Print needs to be second to none. You'll be leading a team and department so you need to know what you are doing. Ideally your knowledge of print will be well rounded as there's not much that can't be done in this business. Digital, Litho, Large Format, this place can do it all.

Despite being in a position to produce every type of print they're certainly not a jack of all trades and a master of none. They are so highly regarded within the industry as one of the best. A huge focus on carbon footprint, quality control and added value. So if these are areas you are interested in, you'll fit in very nicely for sure.

You know, the role will require lots of different hats to be worn, sometimes all at once. Not all Production Manager positions are the same but for this one, you'll be overseeing a direct team of 4 or 5. They are shift leaders and departmental managers. They in turn manage the actual operators on shift.  People management will be huge in this but away from people management, you'll oversee production scheduling, stock management, planning, supplier management and sub-contract installation management. All the big impact stuff.

Communication is imperative on this opportunity. You'll be integral to all other departments. Your communication is vital in the process, the streamlining, the workflow from start to finish. Your communication for example to Client Services or Studio is super important as that has such a knock-on effect on the project you are working on. So you've got to be clear, concise, and approachable!

You'll be coming into this from being hands-on on the production floor. Perhaps you've been a shift or team leader looking for that next step but you will have to come from a Large Format Printing background. You'll need that, to hit the ground running, to get to grips with the new place as quickly as possible.

Knowledge on substrates, printers, and suppliers are all important but what we'd also like you to show us is Continuous Improvement, quality control, lean management, supplier management and people management skills. Both of these are just as important as each other so examples of both are what we are looking for.

This place is exceptional. Everyone is lovely, get's on really well and the business is all aligned to being one of the leading names within the printing industry. Longevity within the business is strong, the opportunity to progress is second to none and from its solid foundations, 2024 and beyond is going to be all about growth. New sectors, new kit, new employees. All very exciting.

So if you're experienced in print production and have been in a lead or supervisory position or you might currently be a Production Manager looking for a new home, get in touch, this is a very good time to be joining the business and we'd love to hear from you.

If this is something you are interested in and would like more information on, then please get in touch. You don't have to have an up-to-date CV, so feel free to get in touch by phone, email or carrier pigeon. Happy to answer any questions you may have about this opportunity.
