Vacancy Detail

Business Development Manager

New Business is hard, let's not beat around the bush. You have to be a certain type of person. If you love it, the thrill, the chase, the pushing, the influencing then this is a job for you. Sales cycles are slow though, so you can't get agitated if it doesn't happen overnight.

You're joining a reputable business selling large-format print machinery into the printing market.  As a reseller of some of the leading equipment on the market, you'll not be shy of products and services to sell to your prospects and customers. Given the price point though, it's not a sale everyday (although that would be nice) you'll need to be patient and carve out the opportunities and be there when the button is ready to be pushed.

What will make your life easier is the variety of products in your arsenal. There's 1.8m 3.2m 5m wide printing machines through to cutters, folders, laminators all the way through to inks and consumables. Sometimes, it's opening the door with the low ticket items and growing those acorns into oak tress. With your experience though of selling print machinery, you know what works best for you.

Rewards for doing your job in this place are special. You'll obviously be paid a base salary but also get a commission, a car (or allowance) and more than your standard other perks. What's more, you'll be part of a small but growing team. Ambition to be better, driven by giving exceptional service and value for money. The team you'll be joining is close-knit. They've been together for a while. In fact, the average tenure across the 10 of you is sat at 10 years!

Reputation is everything for this business. It should be for you too. Operating within a niche of Large Format Print, it provides you with a big enough opportunity to make a huge impact but it's also small enough to really build and nurture relationships to a significant level. This is the type of person you'll need to be. Not a stack it high and sell it cheap.

As a little bonus, you're joining a business that really does care for it's people. It has an experienced MD who is still very much on the upwards trajectory so not stuck in prehistoric ways. Now is really a pivotal time for them. You'll be integral to that growth and ambition.

If you're reading this and it's sounding like of interest, get in touch. No CV is needed at this stage, let's just have a little chat about you, what you are after and I can tell you everything you want to know.
