What to include in a signage installer brief

Installer vacancies need an unusually clear brief because the work can vary significantly by product, site, travel pattern and level of responsibility.

Explain the installation work

Describe the typical products, environments and scale of work. Candidates need to know whether the role centres on retail graphics, architectural signage, vehicle applications or a varied project mix.

Be precise about travel

State the usual working area, frequency of overnight stays, start times and how travel is organised. These practical details often determine whether an otherwise suitable person can consider the role.

Set out safety and access requirements

List the licences, cards or access qualifications that are genuinely required, and identify what the company can arrange after appointment. Avoid treating every possible qualification as essential.

Clarify customer responsibility

Installers often represent the business on site. Explain whether they will lead teams, liaise with customers, record completion, resolve snags or report back to a project manager.
